Gilmer County Court Dockets

Gilmer County Courts With Dockets

Federal Dockets for Gilmer County

Read Gilmer County Dockets
Reading a Gilmer County docket starts with the court name and case type. Look for the filing date, then read entries in order. A motion is a request for a judge to act. An order is a judge's ruling. A judgment is a final enforceable civil decision. A disposition is the outcome of a case, charge, or event. Nolle prosequi means the prosecutor chose not to pursue a charge.
Some docket entries are scheduling entries, not final outcomes. A Rule Nisi may set a hearing. A continuance may move a hearing or trial to a later date. A plea entry can resolve a criminal charge, but charges may also be dismissed, amended, dead docketed, merged, or restricted. Juvenile, sealed, adoption, mental-health, personal-identifying, and restricted criminal-history information may be absent or redacted. If a docket entry affects legal rights, the court file or a certified copy should be verified through the proper clerk.
